Post PSOBB Harmful Software To Most Firewalls / Antivirus
Hi all, I would love to get back on to playing Eden. Most of my free time is on mornings before work so I'd have to play on my work PC. The problem is, the antivirus here (which I have no control over) sees PSOBB.exe as malware and it deletes it instantly.

This is true for PSOBB from any private server. I was wondering if there's a way for you guys to rectify this issue or advise me if I can do something about it on my end.

Thanks for your time. :)

You can add your installation folder to your whitelist with your anti virus and firewall before installing and that should help for it to not be instantly quarantined or deleted.

If you really have no control over your antivirus then contact your system administrator, and ask them if it is ok to allow said program to be installed on their system or network, or use a better antivirus. If you are trying to access games from a place of work or school be aware that most companies will have anti fun measures in place controlled by system administrators which will block off most game servers, porn sites, and other places on the web the company deems fit to not let employees and students access during work.

Psobb has a registered known ip address in the .exe file which is registered with the worlds ip address locator services that most all anti tamper services pull from which in this case is pointed to sega's official servers. Privet servers change that ip address in the .exe file to point to their own active servers which causes a mismatch to occur then creates the false positive which causes instant quarantine, or deletion of file(s) to happen based on the ip address not being the same as expected. Sega own's the ip address to the original and short of buying the intellectual propriety, or a from a more legal stand point a limited renewable license to use sega's own ip address nothing can be done about the false positive being generated. So it comes down to pay sega for 16 numbers and 3 dots or just deal with the false positives. Hint it is cheaper to deal with the false positives.

Note on security measures for all privet servers:
Won't lie though the warring is not without merit for any kind of privet server which can push patches and files on to your system while ignoring security protocols which should ask if it is ok for a program to make changes to your system, which pso does through the way it patches the game as well as most other privet game servers will is one of the main reasons you would get a similar false positive flag to be triggered as well as for the for the above reason. Only install from 3rd party privet servers you trust. Ya dee ya dee ya da... Research how to use the internet before installing anything.
