say i need to wipe my computer what files would i need to back up so i dont have to restart my characters I thought it was only the character DAT file but you need other files to |

Everything should be in 1 folder to start with just copy the folder containing everything to a flash drive or dvd. |

The same folder that contains character dat file. If you're using the dat version, essentially all of the dat files make up your database. |

And those files that make up the database also make up the game save right |

Yes, they are what retains any information for the server. (login info / characters / banks / keyboard settings / teams / etc) |
