When I choose to tell Sue my name in Dr. Osto's Research, it won't be saved across all difficulties, right?

What I mean by that is:
* I can refuse to tell Sue my name on Normal, follow the plot and fight the Black Hound to get the Soul Eater.
* Then, when I'm doing the same quest on Hard, I can tell her my name and see the story unfold differently.

I can do that, right?
Just wanted to make sure before I do all these quests ...
