i previously had "Error code 5" but i fixed that, but now everytime i load from "online.exe" and select "start game" it crashes. any ideas?

It sounds like an AV issue. Add psobb.exe to your trusted application list/exception list within your AV. Or for testing disable your AV then run up eden. If it works it'll be a something you'll need to change in your AV. (I'd recommend checking the developers faqs for adding exceptions).

.... i could just slap myself in the head. i figured it out! i didn't install it

and i didn't install it in the first place because in the read me, it said not to run the install if i had previously used pso bb before.... so i didn't think i would have to and i didn't know if that would mess something up. THANK YOU!
