why don't you make a fully transparent image (a small one, doesn't matter) , import it into the textures file by adding a new entry and then in the particlewhatever, place the id of the texture to use.
Another way would by simply replace the dark flow effect texture with a transparent one, but i'm not really sure if the texture is used elsewhere, if it it then it would affect more then just dark flow.

*Things that crossed my mind when i saw DF*
dark falz, dark flow, DF shield, random ep4 rare that i probably don't know.

Particleentry.dat, entry 474. Playing with opt 1 and 2 (20 and 99 originally) and making the values 5/20 will make the special run along the floor. Dunno if anyone will care to test stuff out, but there you go.
