Ok, so I am currently running Windows 7 64 bit and Linux Mint side by side.
I am fairly new to Linux and am thinking about sticking to it and erasing my Windows partition.
However, there are many games like this one that only seem to work within Windows.

I think there is something called W.I.N.E but I have not tested it yet.
Apparently Windows software can be run in a Linux environment using this, but I am yet to test it.

Has anyone here actually found a tried and tested way to play EDEN and other Windows software/games in Linux?

Any thoughts/ideas etc would be very helpful!

WINE can run many windows applications without too many issues. However I don't believe people have managed to get PSOBB working. (Not to a stable playable state anyway). There is quite a bit of information on PSOBB and wine on the net.

In the past I've used WINE to play games. Generally you'll see a decrease in performance and a few bugs but overall works pretty well. I haven't tried WINE with PSOBB though.

I think I am going to stick with a dual partition boot system for now, one with Windows 7 and one with Linux Mint.
Until I am more experienced I may as well stick with what I know...

P.S, I am loving Eden, but don't get to play as much as I would like,
however it's nice to play online rather than on the Dreamcast
(which I have now packed away for the final time!!)
