Not bad. You better be OC'ing that CPU or else you shouldn't be buying it :P You can OC it with stock fans too, from what I hear.

It was the best CPU I could find for my price range.

I'm not saying it's a bad CPU :P

Intel chips with "k" modifiers (2500k, 2550k, 2600k, etc) are so-called "unlocked," and thus beg to be overclocked :P You could probably OC it to over 4.0 with relatively no heating problems. If you're looking to go higher, it might be worth investing in a fan though...

Eh he'll need more than just a fan. Stock coolers suck. Get a decent $50 tower heatsink, or if you have the cash a self-contained water cooling solution like a Corsair H100 or Antec Kuhler.

Should be able to hit 4.5ghz easily on that chip with decent cooling and case fans.

Overall the system looks very solid, you'll be very happy with it.

I'm to worrisome by nature to even try a liquid cooled system. A nut comes loose or a screw comes undone and the insides have to take an unwanted bath. That.... and I'm at my spending limit with what I bought.

Yeah, mine was built over time. I have the same stance on liquid cooling, but if it's done right that doesn't happen.

Still, I'd recommend when you have more money, get a tower style heatsink. I have a Thermaltake Frio with Scythe Ultra Kaze 133cfm fans on it and it's great. I'd recommend the Frio highly, as well as Prolimatech Megahalems, Coolermaster Hyper 212+, anything by Scythe USA and the Noctua D-14. Good cooling is important, since building my rig I've gotten a new case and 3x Scythe Ultra Kazes and a Delta AFB1212 to keep heat down. If you're pushing 4ghz you need this kind of cooling..

Thermal paste is important too, I used Arctic Silver 5 for a long time and recently switched from it to Innovation Cooling 7 Nano Diamond and it dropped 3c off my load temps...even on the stock cooler, good thermal paste will save you a few degrees under load.

I was planning on getting a new one eventually anyways. I've just got other priorities like a keyboard/mouse and a new headset. I guess school is semi important to save for as well.

Yep of course, other things are more important. Regardless, with everything you're getting you will have a very fast system. That SSD looks great and is one of the few things I'm missing in my rig.
