A lot of us on the PSU forums have been discussing this.

If anyone has played PSU on the English servers, you should very well know the neglect we get from Sega of Japan. I remember a day when we used to have our updates just weeks apart. Now we are more than a year and a half behind them. Plus on top of that we haven't received "new" content in weeks. All weapon reskins with matching stats to the Japan server weapon. (They got these weapons with brand new skins)

Now the question we are all talking about.

Japanese servers have already been confirmed. Judging from the popularity of the English servers there will also be one of them. A lot of us are starting out on the Japanese servers in fear of Sega neglecting us again. For those of you getting PSO 2, what do you think you will be doing?

I am all for going to the JP servers with my friends. Not like I'll be alone!

Ehhhhn. Depends. It's not that I can't read the moon runes, but dammit, I am a lazy bitch.

Buuuuut if there's no other choice I'll probably just go "screw it" and jump ship over to servers where it isn't just my shyness making me stay quiet as can be.

I wish I knew Japanese. But I don't, and figure that I'd be kicked out of games or dissed behind my back without me even knowing about it by people who think I'm a noob. I just find it harder if I can't understand people and I can't easily communicate with people who I'm playing with.

I wouldnt bother about not understanding them. My biggest Issue is not to understand the game mechanics, what items I got in my inventory and such. That would be the most anoying thing, since you cant pratically do anything in this case.

Phantasy star games in general tend to be filled with katakana.
Katakana can easily be learned in a week.

And by knowing katakana, as well as English --and general PSO terms, you could read well over 80% of the item names in PSO.

I'd probably honestly just be a sheep and follow my friends. I'd be willing to put up with translation stuff, especially considering I don't care about storyline when it comes to PSO. I just need the gameplay.

*cough* Granted I do care at least somewhat when it comes to story.
