This isn't just in regards to SOPA by the way. I meant it in the sense of a government using it as a means to enforce any of its laws. |

Ok. Well Censorship in any way seems to me like an excuse for a form of government to take control. Whether it is SOPA like the U.S.A. is trying to pass right now, or the full fledged internet censoring in Egypt that happened and has since been repealed, I am against it. I'm not too sure on other laws in countries, but censoring the internet, even just small miniscule sections infringes on American rights to free speech, information, ect. |

My honest argument against the whole cencership thing (besides the freedom of speech and that it basically slaps the Constitution like its a female dog.) is the argument of WHO gets to decide what is seen or not seen? The only reason I hold my tounge at all is in repsect for the people who ask me to or for the people who are upset about 'bad words' (keeping in mind the whole bad words thing sounds like something you tell a brat not an adult. 'you said a bad word!' "So? Im old (BEEP) off prick. I earned my right to tell you to (BEEP) off. So why don't you just (BEEP) off already?") Not too mention, and not just in the USA. but religoens, faiths, and all sort of groups exist all with their own rules and regulations. Many of whom use the internet. One organization or group no matter how massive does not speak for the others. I hate to sound like a religion version of a racist, but as a Pagan atheist im sick of all the 'jesus people' getting in the way of my life. you probably expected to see me say christian or Catholic there didn't you? Well I don't think they are really. I mean how in the 42 hellz do you go from a Jewish guy who Helps people. A Jew guy who worked his AZZ off helping others, even supposedly dying for peoples sins. How do you go from that image of PURE kindness and generosity to.. "Pay 35 bucks to have a Seat in the court of the lord." Hell if I was a deity id be SO pissed off. "Buying your way into heaven is greed and Sloth. you get to take the Elevater Down stairs." hmm what if it got funny.. "Ok. You bought youself into court. Your all hearby accused of using Human means and human money in an attempt to BUY your way into paradise created by dieties, who have no need of your little mortal games. How do you plead?" GAH sorry for my mini stint there.. im kinda tired and all the "christmas" stuff is getting to my head.. I mean.. my ear by store had The buyable decorations.. WEEKS BEFORE HALLOWEEN! WTF? -sigh- ok ok.. calming down... calm..calm.. but yep censorship wont work. TOO many points of views get crushed..more freedoms taken away.. people will get angry... occupy wallstreet will looke EXTRA nice compared to the back lash on the way. |

i honestly dont care whats up on the net. but the government controls everything. So my answer is no, i wasnt gonna do it in a poll, because theres multiple other things they should censor, like adds for boos or things that kill people. |

Based on the poll, the way I see it, if your people (you) allowed something to get outlawed, it should be outlawed in every outlet. If the content is illegal, then it should be enforced, even on the internet. Now I believe there should be very little content that is just straight up illegal, mainly illegality in uses and ways, but if your people decided it was illegal, then you shouldn't grumble to yourself. There's more than enough people to cause the popular view to win, you just need to change the popular view and arm the masses with the knowledge they need to decide what they want to happen, not just scratch on a paper. |
