Post Favorite Genre/Band and why?
Alright so I just got home from a concert featuring Hail the Villain, All That Remains, Avenged Sevenfold, and Limp Bizkit.
This caused me wonder, what types of music Eden is listening to.

Lets keep the music flaming to a minimum, and remember, it's all OPINIONS here.

So yeah, simple enough, favorite genre/artist/song, whichever you feel like answering.

:D LOVE, JEFFYYY!

Welll I don't dislike any music (besides most rap)
I usually switch "favorite band/genres"
Current feelin good with metal and rock
Last genre was trance and techno
Some Jrock is good really it depends.
That's all I can think of

Yeah, I can tolerate most music.

Country, rap, and metal generally fall to the lower parts of my list depending on how strong certain elements in said songs are. For example, if rap has enough supporting music (PIANO IS HUGE, I LOVE THE PIANO) then I'll more readily listen to it than if it's just some random guy churning out 'profound' words in incredibly simplistic rhythms.

As far as what I really enjoy, video game soundtracks and concert music tend to top my list. I also absolutely love chip tunes, especially if they're true to the 8-bit style. Bit Shifter, Anamanaguchi, Nullsleep, RushJet1, those sorts of artists. Oh, and covers of old NES music like the Minibosses rock too.

As far as concert music goes, I love the timpani (whether it's hearing it or playing it) so anything with epic timpani moments is okay with me. :3

When I'm in my car I tend to listen to oldies, since I just like the way the 70's through the 90's sounded.

So there's my long ramble about music.

I listen to so many types of music I can't name a favorite genre or band. Electronic, metal (not death or reeeeealy hardcore stuff), classical, solo piano, instrumental, orchestral, classic rock, video game music, blues, jazz (not smooth jazz)...are probably the majority of my music collection. I tend to keep "favorites" which are five to ten songs and span multiple genres, which change on a weekly basis or so depending on what styles I like the most...currently this includes the following:

- "Garden State" by Senses Fail (this has been in my list the longest)
- "Separate Ways" by Journey
- "Enter Sandman" by Metallica
- "Funny The Way it is" by Dave Matthew's band
- "Longing to Ancient Times" part 1, premium version. (PSO song woo xD)
- "Raves Aedes Sacrum" (PSIII:Card Revolution, even though I never played it xD)

I compose my own music occasionally. Not too often but I do listen to it every so often...

What are chip tunes, exactly? Just 8-bit music or is there another element to it?

What kind of music do you compose?

Chip tunes are mostly 8-bit style, yeah. Some of them have a few modern elements, but they usually remind you of the good ol' NES days.

For example:

Generally pseudo-video game music because it really isn't in any games lol. Haven't done much recently; I'm too lazy to get the program working because a font isn't installed.

Yeah I'm familiar with those, I just wasn't aware of the name "chip tunes"

That actually sounds quite interesting. Do you have any samples?
